WTI Oil Ends at 22-Week Low as Economies Struggle
US benchmark oil prices finish at their lowest level since Feb. 25, down 4.8% at $93.89 a barrel, and the global benchmark drops back under $100, as energy investors begin to focus on weakening data coming out of the US and other major economies. Reports released today showed a slowdown in US factory growth last month as orders declined, while construction spending fell in June, missing estimates. This follows last week's GDP report showing the US economy has contracted for two consecutive quarters. WTI is now at lows not seen since the war in late February.
